This was super well done. Such a heavy topic done in such a lighthearted way. I mean, even though he’s an outcast and told people he’d do it, that can’t possibly mean that he’s gonna do it right?!?

Required viewing if you are a fan of Matt Johnson’s comedy. The dirties is an early look at his directorial skills and ability to elevate meta narratives into something special and heartfelt. While it’s certainly no academy awards contender, the chemistry on screen between its leads are a joy to watch. Heartbreaking ending.
Also- Matt Johnson did black face in this?!?!!?!
A messy film about a messy character. You can certainly tell it's their first film project, but it carries all the charm we've come to expect from Matt Johnson's work. But for all its sloppy corners, that final scene really makes the whole movie
