Pretty good , on the creepy side what I could see of it . So many scenes were pretty dark and was not easy to see completely , but was a good show 👍

A solid debut film that tackles themes that aren't easy to bring to the screen, but it showcases the early steps of the director who would go on to make *Evil Dead Rise* and *The Mummy*. Worth watching if you're a fan of the director; otherwise, you might be disappointed.

Patience is the operative word for The Hole in the Ground, at least until it isn't. The rural Irish setting earns its keep; fog-choked woods and a house that sits just a little too close to the treeline give the film a grounded, folk-horror edge rather than relying on jump scares to unsettle. Considering its reportedly modest budget, the atmosphere on display is all the more impressive. Seána Kerslake plays Sarah's unraveling with real restraint, never tipping her hand on whether she's right to be afraid or simply coming undone, and Lee Cronin shows real control behind the camera, letting silence and empty frames do most of the work rather than leaning on shock cuts or score stings. The first hour holds together well enough that I rarely felt impatient waiting for answers. Unfortunately, the intriguing premise never develops into anything as memorable as its early promise suggests. The central mystery held my attention for two acts, but the back half rushes to resolve it, introducing and then abandoning key plot threads while shifting toward a more literal, creature-driven climax that undercuts the restraint of the first hour. The film proves to be an effective exercise in atmosphere, but it ultimately falls short of becoming a memorable horror film.

I WOULD BE ASKING QUESTIONS ABOUT THE HOLE So….did I just see a DirecTV production logo??? Ever since ContraPoints mentioned “elevated horror” (which I read as A24) consistently uses an upside down shot, I can’t help but notice lol Could have stopped that kid before he even made it to the woods if you had just kept running instead of stopping to holler Your mantra isn’t a damn patronus lmfao Claustrophobia makes me reconsider the concept of cyanide capsules hidden in your tooth
