Not as bad as I thought, at least it's entertaining.

Halfway through this rather conventional (as it seemed) thriller, the plot had run its course and I was wondering what else could possibly happen. And then it all kicked off.

As a huge fan of the book, the movie didn't disappoint me at all! The character portrayals were spot on. Especially Seyfried performance as Nina. I still prefer the book. But the movie actually lived up to my expectations & maybe even more!

Man. What a movie. Lived up to the hype big time. Solid performances from all the key players make this one riveting right up to the end. Speaking of the end, don't miss the end of this one! Fair warning, lol.

I went into The Housemaid expecting something in the vein of The Crush, Obsessed, or Fatal Attraction—but this film takes a completely different turn. In fact, the energy felt much closer to Gone Girl with its layered tension and shifting power dynamics. The story wastes no time pulling you into the characters’ emotional world, and the pacing stays tight from start to finish. Every twist lands, every gap gets filled, and the ending actually feels earned—no loose threads, no “wait… that’s it?” moment. I honestly didn’t expect to walk away giving this a five‑star review, but here we are. If you enjoy films built on family scandal, infidelity, and that deliciously wrong‑but‑so‑right sexual tension, this one absolutely delivers. Highly recommend

The Housemaid is a polished, slow-burn thriller with strong performances—especially from Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried—and a tense, atmospheric setup about a housemaid uncovering dark secrets in a wealthy home. Directed by Paul Feig, it looks great and builds unease well, but plays it too safe, with familiar tropes and pacing that drags a bit. Solid acting and mood carry it, but it never fully delivers on its potential.

More 2020s propaganda about how women aren't crazy and men are evil. The campaign of the vilification of men has been in full swing for 20 years now, meanwhile men are being abused by their girlfriends/fiances/wives every day. Other than that it was an ok movie, but frustratingly and laughably predictable.
