Drama and Americans are added to make it easily accessible. What we are left with is a truly epic tale of how the west ruiend Japan that everyone can watch without getting bogged down in all the politics. I've watched this movie more than a handful of times and every time I come away wanting more. More samuri more battles more blood but sadly the samurai are dead.
