- Darren McKennaAugust 2, 2026Pam Anderson was brilliant in this film. I never gave her a thought because I never watched her in her youth because of that beach show she was in. She gave a very strong performance in which she should be very proud of. Jamie Lee Curtis also gave a strong performance and it took me a minute to realise it was her. A great cast and a story to go with it. The star of the show, was the women here, a powerful story with a great team.

Throughout the movie, Shelly learns that it is not just her career as a showgirl that is coming to an end, but instead, it is ever more apparent that it is the end of an era. The cast does a great job of bringing the viewer into Shelly's shoes through relatable situations and a list of hard times that are a reflection of common themes in life.

Felt like she expressed all the emotions of a show girl who loved being on stage most her adult life but battled with choosing the show over more important responsibilities when she was younger. Jamie Lee Curtis was great as always.
- vangh1February 26, 2025I loved the many dancy interstitials throughout. Really sold how much music and motion are so engrained in their existence. The scene where Hannah comes into the locker room right after watching the show was so tough to watch. Both in the wrong, neither in the wrong. And then the fallout causing Sheley to leave Jodie out in the cold. Tough sequence. I really appreciate how well this conveyed the luster coming off of not just Shelly, not just Le Razzle Dazzle but the whole Showgirl industry, and how impossible it would be to come to terms with that as someone who left the entire rest of your life by the wayside for that industry. Not entirely sure how I read the ending, but all in all it was an impactful watch.
- falkerFebruary 18, 2025The Last Showgirl made me feel like I was flipping through old vinyl and accidentally stumbled upon a decent record with 2 or 3 hit songs on it. It's not an AMAZING movie, but it's certainly ENTERTAINING. With a good support cast, Pamela Anderson plays the role of her lifetime and hey, sometimes that can be good enough, no matter how it ends. Like "The Wrestler" but less depressing, and I feel much better watching Pamela Anderson than Mickey Rourke.
- Kevin WardJuly 1, 2025Really wanted to LOVE this. And I did love some of it. Anderson gives a really great performance. JLC is similarly great in her supporting role. Loved some of the ideas on display as well. Shelly’s (Anderson) has given 30 years to a career, sacrificing time with her daughter, Hannah (Billie Lourd) to make ends meet. Only to get kicked to the curb left with nothing to show for it while a guy that pushes a button gets to keep his job and his full pension. The film unfortunately is also equally frustrating for various reasons. I seriously wondered if our theaters projector was out of focus for parts of the film. Most notably the get together at Shelly’s house. The focus so bad, but the house lights in our theater flickered on a few times during our showing, I thought maybe it was a theater issue, however, I’m seeing a lot of the same comments in a few of your reviews. Less of an issue, but I didn’t love the constantly close-up camera. Also, the ending leaves a lot to be desired. There’s a sub plot regarding Hannah’s dad that is completely unresolved, but the film semi treats it as if it’s resolved. It’s like there’s 20-30 minutes of the film missing. Similarly, Shelly’s relationship with her daughter is given the same kind of “resolution.” I thought Dave Bautista was giving a good performance. But then we find out something about his character that makes the performance actually not feel right. Even with all of those frustrations, though, I would still recommend this film. A career best performance from Anderson and some really good ideas are swirling around this otherwise kind of messy film.
- cultfilmlikerFebruary 25, 2025What a cast. Wild when Jamie Lee Curtis is my least favorite part and I think it’s bc it feels shes trying too hard. But also that’s what she does and she does it well! I’m just not a huge fan lol anyways love the cinematography and there are some gorgeous shots as expected. Pam performs her heart out and it’s very good. Dave Bautista stays surprisingly solid. Fun nepo-cameo near the end!
