The best Jurassic Park sequel, because it's directed by Steven Spielberg.

Perhaps its a bit disjointed with the last half hour resembling a japanese monster movie. But the thrill is still there, it has one of the most exilerating sequences In the T-rex cliff scene so well sequenced. Their are also some heavy hitting charachters in Pete Pothinswaites Roland Tembo and Vince Vaughns less intresting but still plot driving eco warrior. It retains the moral grappling of the first film unlike its sequil making it feel a more substantial outing. Overall a worthy atempt to follow the blockbuster of all blockbusters, not an easy task. Just a shame they jumped the shark a little at the end.

You can tell by their acting that even the dinosaurs didn't want to be in this one.

Not nearly as strong as Jurassic Park in terms of writing, but a great mix of mechanical and digital effects.

Dinosaurs make my brain go Brrrr In all seriousness though, this is not as good as the original. But it is still a fantastic watch. I just wish they had kept the Carnotaurus from the books.

There's obviously no comparing to the original but, for what it is, it's really fun.

Jeff Goldbloom is putting this movie on his back and it’s not even funny While this movie is no where near the first one I think it still offers a good time with some dinosaurs, but at the same time it just lacks that spark of the first one It’s solid entry into the franchise, now onward

The best Jurassic Park Sequel with a totally unnecessarily but kind of fun third act.

Idk why a lot of people seem to dislike the movie! I love it almost as much as the first one

A Sequel That Struggles to Roar "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" tries to build on the success of its predecessor, but it doesn’t quite reach the same level of excitement or magic. While the dinosaur action is still fun and delivers a few thrilling sequences, the story feels uneven and lacks the tightness that made the first film so engaging. The movie leans heavily on spectacle, which can be entertaining, but often at the expense of coherence and character depth. Some choices in pacing and plot make it feel a bit stretched, and it doesn’t always keep the momentum going. Still, the effects hold up, the dinosaurs look great, and there are moments that remind you why this franchise captured imaginations in the first place. Overall, "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" is watchable and enjoyable in parts, but as a sequel, it struggles to balance scale with substance. A decent entry, but far from exceptional.

“it's fine if you wanna put your name on something, but stop putting it on other people's headstones.” the pacing is a mess, the narrative feels far too much like that of a conventional blockbuster, characterization is sacrificed for spectacle, and character decisions feel very stupid and like they take place just to justify big set pieces. that being said, i still love this movie. even when he’s not at the top of his game spielberg is still pretty magnificent. the shots and blocking are as beautiful as ever (absolutely stunning silhouette and shadow work for both the dinosaurs and humans) and the tension of the set pieces is so captivating. from the cliff scene to the camp ambush, it’s all so harrowing even though we know the protagonists are going to survive; plot armor exists but it never feels like it’s cheating. the score still moves me and both the practical effects and cgi are a step up from jurassic park. this film never achieve the same level of thematic or character depth as the original, but the dinosaurs look great and the kills are creative and it’s still such a fun ride. the whole san diego section is a beautiful contrast between unbridled prehistoric nature and mankind’s modernization and bastardization of the natural world. the unassuming clash between them really shows how incompatible the two are and how mankind’s attempts at playing god have subjected these animals to live in a completely alien environment, suffering a hell and confusion they were never meant to experience. it’s definitely unrefined, feels like a first draft of a third act, and kind of like they jumped the shark, but i personally glean so much entertainment and value from it. it’s by no means perfect but i still admire and love it.
