This movie features three of my favorite actors, Jean Arthur, William Holden, and Charles Coburn. Each has proven that they can hold their own in dramatic settings. However, this being a comedy, they shine here as well. Imagine, three complete strangers living in a small, shared apartment in overpopulated wartime Washington DC. It is also a terrific love story, told in the way tales were told in the 40s and 50s before the world wanted things to be more graphic. Watch this movie and you'll learn that words, behavior, and character personality are all that you need.
