Jay Austin is now a civilian police detective. Lieutenant Colonel Alan Caldwell was his commanding officer several years before when he left the military police over a disagreement over the handling of a drunk driver. Now a series of murders that cross jurisdictions force them to work together again. That Austin is now dating Caldwell's daughter is not helping the relationship at all.
I adore The Presidio. I grew up in the Bay Area and csn say they did a good job capturing the real life Presidio as well as San Francisco as a whole. It's juicy, picturesque, has a clear plot with plenty of pulp. They did great capturing the damp fogginess that is known to overcome the city.
Presidio is a solid noir film.
Great performance by a very young Mark Harmon, a solid (as usual) performance by Sean Connery and a good showing by Meg Ryan for a not-so-predictable blending of cast members that tell a very good suspense story in what could almost be considered a pre-quel to NCIS.
