Time to Shine
Where to Watch Time to Shine
- jackmeatSeptember 16, 2025My quick rating - 2.1/10. I have no background on this one, and the synopsis is so vague and pointlessly written that it offers no clue what it is about. JustWatch didn't have anywhere to stream it 2 years after it was released. It does now, but still. Neither of these things gives me a good feeling about this. "Life changes for Shawn much more than he ever anticipated! Faced with the hard peer pressures of an ungodly environment, he finds himself experiencing extraordinary times in history, making life just a little worse in ancient times! And if the past doesn't kill him in the process, he'll need it to make for a brighter future, where his greatest challenge awaits." (mistakes left intact on purpose). Oh, this has "school project" written all over it from the camera quality to the lack of acting. If I ever turned off movies due to how stupid they were, this one would be OFF. The special effects are definitely "special" and the lame attempts at making scenes anything more than they are, which is some kids and their phones, are so poorly done. This appears to be some religious flick as well. What it ends up being is a test of your patience in watching some snot-nosed kid supposedly put through some trials across time to test his faith in g-d. The adventures themselves are just so stupid and don't even make sense to test one's faith, so not sure what they were attempting to get at. And the moral of this whole thing seemed to be that you can go to college AND be a Christian. I never really knew there was a raging debate about this that needed some piss-poor movie to persuade teens into staying with the church and bettering their education. As I said, you can't stumble across this right now, and trust me, if that changes, make sure you turn the channel as fast as possible. There isn't a single redeeming part of this movie, even if it is a fictional tale about believing in fiction.
