Where to Watch Werewolves
- Hipster ZOMBIEJanuary 26, 2025Frank Grillo vs Werewolves. How can you screw this up? This film finds multiple ways to do it. The film presents an amazing concept for a film but then due to possibly lack of budget or just poor writing fails to deliver on the goods. Maybe it would have been better as a tv show?
- Magnus PardeNovember 6, 2025Werewolves (2024) is one of those rare genre flicks that sneaks up on you—unexpectedly entertaining, occasionally rough around the edges, but brimming with potential. 🌕 What Works - Frank Grillo steals the show: His performance is magnetic, blending grit and charisma with a physicality that feels tailor-made for the role. Whether he's snarling through a transformation or commanding a tense standoff, Grillo elevates every scene he's in. - Transformation scenes deliver: The turning/morphing sequences are surprisingly effective. They may not rival big-budget CGI spectacles, but they strike a satisfying balance between visceral tension and visual clarity. - Pacing and tone: The film maintains a tight rhythm, never dragging, and leans into its horror-action hybrid identity with confidence. 🐺 What Could Be Better - Werewolf costumes: While some designs hit the mark, others feel undercooked—more Halloween store than Hollywood. A few scenes suffer from this, especially in close-ups. - Budget limitations: You can feel the constraints in certain set pieces and effects. With just a bit more funding and creative risk-taking, Werewolves could have pushed into cult-classic territory. 🧠 Final Thoughts Werewolves isn’t perfect, but it’s a testament to what can be achieved with strong performances and a clear vision. With a touch more imagination and resources, this could have been the next Dog Soldiers or even a modern The Howling. As it stands, it’s a solid, surprisingly good entry in the werewolf canon—and one that leaves you hoping for a sequel with teeth.
- Stephen GuerreroOctober 18, 2025It's all about science to start, but things are starting to look promising for some horrific results. Moonlight is soon followed by madness and sheer acts of glorious violence, science vs. nature. For a science fiction story, it's filled with fun and excitement and with some yummy terror. It's an Absolutely Funtastic Thrill Ride...
- N8January 25, 2025It’s bad, but I wouldn’t even put it in the bottom 5. There’s some real trash out there. I didn’t love it and it had some big problems but it had a kind of bootleg John Carpenter vibe that I appreciated, and I thought the werewolves looked pretty good which is a win in and of itself.
