Jace's death was shit. Where the fuck was the scene of baby Stormcloud carrying baby Aegon to safety while being shot at? Where the fuck were either of the babies during the whole season? Jace, you deserved a better reason for your death. Will forever miss you mogging in your scenes. Mysaria and her accents can fuck off. Aemond can fuck off. The writers needs to start writing their fanfictions on some other platform so no one else has to endure their fucked up fantasies. Because what the fuck do you mean we had a Alicent and Aemond kissing and fucking scene before we even got a Baela and Jace kissing scene? Honestly Aemonds wig pisses me off more than his scenes. Can we give bro some more forehead please?? Writers nerfed Rhaenyras character so hard I actually found myself wanting more scenes of Ormund, Gwayne, and Daeron. I honestly don't even know what to write about Rhaenyra just know that her character has turned to shit. Alicent’s boring. Aemond’s boring. Helaena's boring. Even her death was boring, you're telling me you couldn't show her jumping? Baela and Rhaena are boring. The costumes are ugly too. Love the dragons. Sheepstealer you will make your comeback. - Hipster ZOMBIEAugust 13, 2026Season 3 is basically a sandwich comprised of the best tasting bread you can think of and above average ingredients used for the rest. Started strong. Lagged for most of the season. And then ended on a banger of an episode! Rhaenyra is drowning in grief, betrayal, and the crushing responsibility of trying to hold her side of the war together. Daemon is battling his own demons while continuing to make decisions that would get anyone else fired from being a thoughtful human being. Alicent is finally forced to confront the consequences of the choices she’s made, while Jace, Baela, Corlys and the rest of the Velaryons are dragged through increasingly brutal battles and not everyone makes it out alive. Then comes the Battle of the Gullet, and suddenly all that political scheming gets replaced by absolute dragon fueled carnage. Ships burn, armies collide, and the dragons finally feel like the terrifying weapons of mass destruction everyone has been warning us about. But even they are not immune from being killed. The kill count rises to extraordinary numbers in the first episode of the season alone! And then Tumbleton goes completely off the rails. Ulf the White goes from unlikely dragonrider to “screw everybody, I work for Ulf now.” After riding Silverwing into battle, he turns traitor and proceeds to tear through both opposing armies, unleashing dragonfire like he’s personally trying to erase Tumbleton from the map. The first and final episode of season 3 is where the season really earns its keep. The dragon battles are awe-inspiring, brutal and beautifully chaotic, with enough fire, destruction and betrayal to remind you that giving emotionally unstable monarchs access to giant flying flamethrowers was probably never going to end well. It’s messy, tragic, occasionally very slow, but when this show decides to throw dragons into the sky, it absolutely cooks.
- rg9400August 11, 2026House of the Dragon season 3 fixed a lot of my complaints from season 2. Right off the bat, this season has impact. The status quo from the beginning of the season is radically altered by the end of the season. A big problem in season 2 is it felt like the show was treading water and deferring consequences and big moments for follow-up seasons. Even if you feel this season slumped a bit in the middle, I think it's clear that it still moves the needle forward overall. Throughout the season, characters scheme, form alliances, and backstab. This season is heavy on the politicking, even if it is bookended with some large battles. To me, that's the best parts of A Song of Ice and Fire, but I can see how some people find the dialogue-heavy sections dry. The crucial element in all of this is that the drama never feels forced. Characters act exactly how you would expect for their arcs, and their interpersonal conflicts feel genuine instead of just because the plot demands it. I think Emma D'Arcy does a fantastic job at emulating this with Rhaenyra. I think it would have been easy for the show to mess up her character this season, but instead, it is deliberate and careful and lets strong acting drive showcasing the character's motivations to the viewer. I think that arc across all 8 episodes is really well executed but also a clear contrast to how season 2 would handle its characters and conflicts. I do think the Harrenhal storyline remains my least favorite, but thankfully it has significantly less screentime this season. This season does such a good job demonstrating the themes of the book series, illustrating how the whims of a few people drag everyone down. I really like the contrast between what happens with the commonfolk versus the elites. All of this said, the show is also equally effective with its big splashy battles and epic moments as well, with plenty of surprises. I can see how not everyone loved the scheming within this season like I did, but everything else feels like a return to form after a very middling second season. I'm very excited to see how the bring The Dance to a close.
- fhe82August 12, 2026Looking back at House of the Dragon Season 3, the thing I enjoyed the most was probably Criston Cole’s death. No heroic duel, no redemption, no twenty-minute warrior spectacle. Three arrows, one in the face, and move on. Perfect. Everything else feels like the show keeps building this enormous telenovela so it can eventually reward us with armies, dragons, sieges, and massive battles… and then somehow it keeps missing the target. There is always another argument, another family grievance, another political tantrum, another person staring dramatically across a room. You keep thinking all of that buildup must eventually explode into something huge, and sometimes it does—but not often enough, and rarely as well as it should. This show played almost every night at home, so I definitely gave it its chances. And I will confess something: those freaking dragons keep luring me back. That is probably the show’s greatest weapon. No matter how tired I get of the soap opera, the second a dragon appears, I am watching again. So yes, Season 3 had moments. But mostly it kept promising fire and delivering drama. And then the dragons show up… and damn it, I am back.
