The series follows the life of anti-social, pain killer addict, witty and arrogant medical doctor Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) with only half a muscle in his right leg. He and his team of medical doctors try to cure complex and rare diseases from very ill ordinary people in the United States of America.
It's the best series I've watched. There were, of course, episodes I really didn't like, there were seasons, like most of 5 and most of 8 that sucked for me. But in the end, generally, and in this literal seasons, I really love this series.
This is truly one of those show where you can honestly say nothing will ever replace it. House delivered eight incredible seasons, and very few TV shows have ever reached that level of writing, characters, and emotional depth/impact and left us with a satisfying conclusion. This show is a timeless masterpiece.
Having seen Hugh in many of his comedy roles on UK TV and not liking them very much it is a delight to see his obvious humorous streak loosed on the world hidden under the guise of a serious drama. I think that the true talent of the actor is given open forum through the antics of a character who is meant to be serious yet openly flaunts his ability to be sarcastic. A wealth of good television can be found in this series which will rarely be found in any other. A really good watch. My respect for Hugh as an actor has been elevated dramatically.
I just finished watching House M.D. and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. This show is a masterpiece. It’s smart, intense, emotional, and full of one of the most unforgettable characters ever put on TV. From the very first episode, it pulls you in and never lets go. Even after all these years, House still holds up as one of the best medical dramas—and honestly, one of the best shows in general.
Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House is absolutely perfect. He completely disappears into the role, and every single scene he’s in is incredible. House is brilliant, sarcastic, rude, and damaged, but somehow you still root for him. He’s one of those characters you just can’t stop watching because he’s always walking the line between genius and self-destruction. Every time he solves a case, it feels like a win—but it’s the moments where he struggles that really hit hard.
The show’s formula is simple but super effective. Each episode usually starts with a mysterious illness, and House and his team have to figure out what’s going on before it’s too late. But it’s never just about the medical puzzle. It’s about how the case connects to something deeper—whether it’s about the patient, House himself, or the people around him. The writing is so sharp, and it constantly finds new ways to keep things fresh, even after multiple seasons.
The supporting cast is amazing too. Wilson, Cuddy, Cameron, Chase, Foreman—they all bring something important to the show. And what makes it even better is how their relationships with House evolve over time. Whether they’re challenging him, enabling him, or trying to pull him out of his downward spiral, every character matters. The chemistry between House and Wilson especially is one of the best friendships ever shown on TV. It’s complicated, funny, and sometimes heartbreaking.
What makes the show really stand out is how fearless it is. It’s not afraid to make House unlikable or to go to dark places. He’s not a perfect hero—he’s deeply flawed, and that’s what makes him feel real. You see him at his highest and his absolute lowest, and through it all, you never stop being invested in him. I went from watching Ben 10 and The Amazing World of Gumball to this show. Actually blew my 14 year old mind.
One of the best TV-Show i've watched in a long time.I could say that i even learned something from House,which is extremely rare in a TV-Show.
Great Medical Drama, excellent writing, directing and acting.
An excellent tv show, well written and with a great cast. This medical drama is one of the best of all time, not focused on silly romance, but the struggles of a brilliant doctor and his team who think outside the box to save lives where others would fail.
