After losing her mother and her homeland, Sitara’s despair transforms into determination with the power of knowledge. New possibilities unfold when a family of scholars takes her in, deepening her education. Meanwhile, Genghis Khan’s Mongol Empire conquers nation after nation, nearing Sitara’s new home. So anime is usually about things related to Japan in one way or another. Even if it's placed in fantasy world it usually retains some of Japanese cultural feats. This series couldn't be more different. From the art style to the story it's as far from Japanese culture as possible. For me personally it's a story about two primitive cultures clashing. The author tries to push Islam as a better one disregarding the most disturbing sides of it presented within the story as normal (for example slavery and disregard to women rights). If not anything else I had real trouble relating to any of the sides and found it a bit painful to watch. It's not the type of story I would be interested in especially that it's showing cultures very morally different from my own. It sure is a curious series for adventurous viewers but for me personally it has zero appeal.
