- Danny Potter-JonesFebruary 12, 2026It is a VERY good series but be aware who you watch this with I tried to watch it a second time with my grandad because I thought he would like this because of the film Gladiator. I absolutely forgot how much nudity was in this it was so bloody awkward. Probably forgot about it because I don't care for dicks and boobs but the action is brilliant.😂 John Hannah as Batiatus is a fantastic complicated villain i don't really see him get much credit for his role or is that just me?

Filled to the brim with great scenes and dialogues, this is a tv series that will stay in your memory. Even the lead actor's death in real life after the first season could not stop this show from achieving greatness.
- RedHarlow13August 23, 20269/10 – For me, this is truly an amazing show for its time. Sadly, after Season 1 and the prequel series, it flattened a bit for me during Seasons 2–3. But I still watched it for certain characters like Spartacus, Crixus, and Oenomaus to see the end of their stories. I have seen Season 1 at least 3 times now, and I can say it’s still great to watch each time. Though it’s sorta based off the real events of Spartacus, there were a few scenes that were a little over the top, weird, and misplaced, not to mention not historical at all. Like Caesar being raped, just for the show to have that shock-and-wow factor. Though they wanted to show the historical dominance of men raping one another after beating them, which I guess did happen, it definitely did not happen to Caesar. But otherwise, great show. Liam did a pretty good job taking the Spartacus role very well. Though not seeing Andy was hard, I do still enjoy this show very much. I am very used to Liam now, being that he is JD Fenix in the newer Gears of War games. I get to hear him a lot, so that was very nice to see him in the games after seeing him here many years ago. – For Andy, the Original Season 1 Spartacus Actor Andy truly did give such an amazing performance, and it is such a sad turn of events to be so healthy and have to pull away from something he clearly cared about and was made for, just for it all to end not too long after. It is terrible. He will truly be missed. Thank you so much, Andy. The one true Spartacus. RIP Andy Whitfield (8/11/11). You were amazing, man.
