- Naegi WellsSeptember 6, 2026Transformers Prime is up to current day the best Transformers media ever made. Sure we've had some good iterations here and there of the same story. The original G1 cartoon, the Netflix War for Cybertron, the Bayverse films, the recent non Bayverse live action films, Transformers One, hell even Transformers Animated was pretty good. But none of them hold a candle to this version. Most of the character designs are some of my favorite of the charracters. Bumblebee was meh, and I didn't really like Unicrons design. His was just chaotic and messy. But Optimus Prime, Arcee, Bulkhead, Megatron, Starscream, practically everyone else had amazing robot and vehicle designs. Their personalities fit their designs so well too. Every character was given time to grow, to have their own arcs. The show took the war so seriously that it started with an Autobot death in episode 1 and ended with a total of 7 named character deaths including 1 human. And above all the relationships built up between the characters added depth and stakes to every close call, and in some cases actual deaths. My only grievances with this masterpiece is that it didn't include AstroTrain, the Constructicons/Devastator, any other combiners, any further lore about the 13 original primes, or an explanation as to the existence of Predacons before even the 13 original primes when they were supposedly the first life forms to live on Cybertron after Primus transformed into the planet for the final time. Than again I guess they never confirmed in this iteration that both Unicron and Primus were transforming planets, so maybe Cybertron existed in some form before Primus and Primus became its core later on? Point is this show is the greatest version of the story of Transformers up to date, but it still could've been better.
