Should they have made Halloween 1981 Cannon with the DGG trilogy also?
One of my main and major issues with Halloween 2018 and the trilogy as a whole, is how they got Laurie's whole character growth, throughout the trilogy the wrong way round. Where the Laurie in Halloween Ends, should have been the Laurie in Halloween 18. Now if they had made Halloween 2 1981 Cannon with the DGG trilogy, then her going all Sarah Connor for 40 years, would have been a lot more believable and would have made total sense. Because in that original film, if you look at it, she only encounters Michael properly in the last 20 Mins. Before that she was only seeing him, in the distance in small doses. Even though it would have been a terrible ordeal to go through; at the same time it isn't enough, for it to transform her into a totally different person altogether like that. It would have effected her absolutely, but not to that degree.
Now here's the point 👉 She goes through a hell of a lot more with "Michael" in H2 1981 than she did in the original. He's more relentless at going after her. She sees what he's truly capable of a lot more in that 2nd film. Also on top of that, the fact that she seen him engulfed in flames, would have had a massive traumatic effect on her also. In retrospect would have made it a 💯 more believable & realistic in every facet. Of course it they would have included Halloween 2 1981 in this timeline, they would have had to do Halloween 2018 a bit differently. Including Michael having burn marks all over his hands and whatever part of his face we see etc etc.
Now here's the question? If you had total creative control and the power was in your hands, what would you have done differently? And what I mean by that is, would you have made Halloween 2 1981 Cannon with the DGG trilogy. Would you have just done one long movie instead of a trilogy and have H2 1981 Cannon in that. Or would you have gone a first and 2nd part/chapter route. There's so many different ways, they could have taken this new timeline. And finally are you just happy with how it is and not change anything at all.
I'd really like to know all of your different ideas and takes, into where you would have taken this whole timeline in the franchise. I know there's things here, I haven't even thought of, that you could think of. Anyway please let me know in the comment section below and we can discuss & talk about it 👇
