- rivers_reviewsJune 15, 2025Never forget when Ned made one of the greatest sacrifices in the MCU. I seriously don’t understand the Homecoming slander. After rewatch, I was still super impressed with this movie and I loved it. The action was great for me and Vulture was a really good villain in my opinion. People who say Spider-Man was Iron Boy Jr. in this film are wrong in my opinion. Yeah, Iron man did help at the beginning, but Peter beat Vulture with no suit and he proved himself at the end of the movie, all while being a 15 year old in high school. On rewatch, though, I honestly didn’t really like Liz that much. Not just as a love interest, but as a character in general. The plot twist where Vulture was her dad is still great to this day. Overall excellent MCU entry and film.

The first time I watched Spider-Man movies I never really understood why everyone loved Tom Holland’s version so much. Now I get it. Peter actually feels like a teenager instead of a perfect superhero. He makes mistakes, gets overconfident and learns from them. Really fun movie from beginning to end. 9/10

Positives: - The movie is well made, well directed, well shot, well edited, and well paced - The score is great - The character Ark of Spider-Man is honestly kind of unseen by a lot of people - The performances are great - Most of our new Spider-Man characters are handled well - The action sequences are all really enjoyable - I love how the film is very grounded - I love all of the High School scenes - The comedy is also hilarious and makes for one of the funniest Spider-Man movies Negatives: - Spider-Man screws up a lot and doesn’t do much for the entirety of the runtime - The film is also find to just be forgettable Overall Spider-Man: Homecoming is still a fun enough film that I do enjoy.
